Mixing strains
    #1155788 - 12/19/02 06:25 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

Ok guys a quick question.
With my first myco-bag I used mazatapec and diden't see any growth after 30 days,so I e-mailed and got a replacement.
Then I was one of the winners in the allen strain contest,so I injected 1-2cc of the allen strain in the bag that I first injected with mazatapec.Well it has been a couple weeks with the allen starin and diden't see any growth so today I injected 1-2cc of treasure coast in this bag,do you think one strains mycelium will take over another or what?
The reason I tried the treasure coast was because I just injected it into the replacemnt bag a week ago and already see some type of white growth,it's still early but in a couple days I will post pics.
So what do you think about a myco-bag that has had mazatapec, allen strain and treasure coast in it,I thought after all this it might be to wet inside that bag but since I let it sit for weeks at a time before new injections it dried out a little but is still moist.
I was reading today about the crossing strain or making new strains but I don't know how that would work, what do you guys think?
Thanks!

Either one strains mycelium will dominate and fruit alone or you will get fruits from all three strains which is more rare.

I was thinking that probably one starin would take over the rest but it would be realy cool to have 3 different strains in one myco-bag!
Thanks!

It would be cool. There is a thread on this in advanced grow so you can go check it out for more info.

No problem!

the stronger strain will take over for shure because the chances of them mushing togeather ot have two different strains on the cake is a very small chance almost none

Alright thanks guys,I will go check out that thread again!
I realy don't care what strain takes over,as long as one of them does I won't have to thow it away and I may even get some mushrooms from this bag!
I would realy start laughing though if I opened the bag in a month to crop the mushrooms and see some wierd looking shrooms I have never seen before, don't worry I have a digital camera so what ever hapens to either of these myco-bags I will post!
Thanks!
