Echinopsis peruviana or Trichosereus Peruvianus, whatever you wish to call it. Anyhow, I have one! How do you like it? (grown from seed by myself.)

I remember when I started growing cacti, I planned on using some of them for a trip. I fell in lpve with the little guys like members of the family now.

Nice. Did you grow it from seed yourself?

Those spines look awfully white for a Peruvianus, but I guess she is still young.
Stronger light never hurts, these guys love it!

Yes, I grew her from seed. Thanks Karode13!

Well, I know it looks like it but that's how it's been growing for some time now. It's winter here and I cut the watering down to once every 2 months as I only give it natural light filtered through 3 panels of glass.
People on a cacti forum viewed it and didn't mention etiolation once.

Well, I cannot oblige stronger light as I will not turn on my HPS for just one cacti. During the summer I kept her outside and the spines turned orange brown. You cannot see in the pic, but the lower spines are darker in color.
Thanks for looking everyone! She loves you all!

It doesn't look like it's etiolating to me, and you'll have plenty of time to get more light if it's currently dormant.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the reassurance.

Oh, I should mention that all of the spines ARE brown, the camera didn't record the color for some reason. Strange

Ah, but San Pedro and Peruvian Torch are different. The torch is renowned to turn a blueish color when low on water. Also the tops of these cacti bear brownish-yellow spines when older. If that isn't enough, the torch is known to be slightly more potent than the San Pedro. The pics aren't so much to speak of. The San Pedro looks bluer than the torch's do. You can get the idea though.

Perhaps if we both still live we can trade seed or cuttings in the future

Don't fret bro, it's easy. Whatever you do just DON'T overwater them. I've read that the two types of cacti in question can handle more water than most other cacti, but it's still possible to drown them. I'd rather my cacti grow slowly than not at all, no? Take your time, you'll be fine!

I wouldn't worry about over watering a T. pach or a T. peru. Just start off by giving them a good draining soil mix, and they should be able to handle any reasonable amount of water that you would throw at them. There are plenty of soil mix recipies on here.
T. bridgesii are the ones out of the active Trichs. that you need to worry about the most.

And even with them a good draining mix goes a long long way.
My trich mix is:
2 part Commercial cactus soil 1 part perlite 1 part pavers sand/grit

I would lie to try growing those next.
