UK Humidity Indicators
    #1154175 -

I think my shitty humidity indicators bust cos it indicates a reading of 95% humidity in my bedroom!  :frown: Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive humidity gauge for sale in the UK & where to get it from?

Thanx in advance.

i had the same question, so i did some research on the internet: everyone says, the more you pay, the better you get, and most of them describe accuracy ay +- 2% EXCEPT ABOVE 85%. Ha! what good is that to shroom growers?

This is what my searching found me:
www.antech.org.uk (calibration engineer firm): apparently sell an aspirated hygrometer for ?6.50, but i couldn't work out how to buy the sod, or a phone number to try.

www.preservationequipment.co.uk : analog hygrometer 438-4583 ?38, digital one 805-2000 ?23 - again no ordering details, but i requested a catalogue from them.

radioshack: item 63-1013 $22.49

www.theweatherstore.com : precision hygrometer $120 ("+- 3%) - call 1-800-646 1203

http://qasupplies.com/ircstore/highumhyg : apparently best for high humidity conditions, and probably the best that money can buy. "+- 3% over 90%, +-2% below this". but it cost a hefty $499 !!

eventually i bought online from this lot: www.humidorcentral.com : analog 'cigar perfect' model $12 (only reads accurately to 90%, as cigars thrive at 50%ish), digital hygro-thermometer (with max-min temp AND humidity readings and an internal clock - fancy!) for $23. since shipping to UK was an additional $23, i bought both (total $59, about ?40) so i can have new toys to play with. i work hard and deserve it. i want several tubs with several conditions, after all, and i plan to check one against the other. i can always use them later for a reptile vivarium.

they arrived at my door within an impressive 5 days from New Jersey(!) and i'm calibrating them tonight using the moist-salt-and-hygro-in sealed ziploc tek, sourced here at the shroomery. I can report back if you like. hope this is useful to you, and i'd love to hear from experienced growers what models are recommended.

Pop down the garden center and look in
the nursery equipment section they should
have between 2 and 5 dif ones to chose from
if no joy try pet stores that sell reptiles they
normaly have good digi ones.
Personaly i just use the cheap ones and change em
once or twice a year. Most keep working fine just
try a dif model if the one you had sucks
Good luck
Edit:Dont forget if you get the cheap ones wet you need to dry them out
to get a true room reading. So if yours was soaked from 95% h in the grow room
or you sprayed it or somthing it may give a false reading in the bedroom.Left it out in a warm spot and see if it changes after 12 hours may be
