cold shocking casings...

since it's the first time i make casings i have a few questions:-)
am i supposed to cold shock my casings before i birth them? if yes, would it be better to cold shock them for 2 days? i read that Anno cold shocked for 1 week! so the more days the better?

i didn't cold shock and had good results.

i incubated about 4 or 5 days until mycelium came through, then moved to birthing chamber and had pins 3 to 5 days later.

it depends which species you are growing. cubensis generally does not require cold shok. anno was growing p.mexicana, not cubensis. even for cubensis, 1 or 2 days in the fridge won't hurt, but its not necessary
