What is going on with this bridgesii? A few extra pics!

This bridgesii log just went into dormancy, but the new pups looked like this on the growth tips about a month before I stopped watering it.
I cant figure out what is wrong with it, it was still growing fine even with the strange looking pups.

A very small torch seedling putting out some pups.

Opuntia argentiniana pup, these look so cool!

I forget what this one is called, if anyone knows then please let me know because I have an issue with it. The leaves near the soil line keep dropping off. I just re-potted it hoping that would help but it has not.

Those Bridgesii pups are odd, highly resembling PC pachanoi pups I've had.

Yeah that bridgesii looks odd

Is the one you forgot the name of possibly a Begonia sp.? Does that name ring a bell? It looks like one.

I think you're over-harvesting.
When they get damaged, the plant kind of freaks out and goes into survival mode. Spination is a really common change when they are cut back.
Bridgesii does not tolerates abuse like that nearly as well as pachanoi does.
