I just read the thread and can say awesome work guys!
A few pages back there is a link to UK co-op bulk buys. I was hoping to jump in on some spawn bags - I had bad experiences with them and gave up, but I think its high time to try again. In the mean time I took the hit and bought a load of rye spawn bags from microscience.
This brings me on to my next point is there anywhere/anyone who could make them up a lot of spawn bags at a more competitive price as I lack time, knowledge and experience. This might be the wrong place to ask for trade and services so please redirect me if this is the case.
I also have a new ultrasonic fogger and matching transformer going spare if anyone is interested? I bought three thinking I would need them all, but obviously not.
Again, great work on the thread!

I have a 100 litre sack of verm sitting here with no chance of me using it all! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vermiculite-Micafil-100ltr-bag-/170579397511?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Plants_Fertiliser_CV&hash=item27b7530b87 There are some pretty big chunks in it though about 1cm3. Is this too big for bulk substrate? I plan to process and screen it anyway for casings. I dont know what the postage would be but would send an amount to anyone at cost or preferably swap it for supplies?

Badman, I've just made a load of spawn bags using the unicorn bags that are recommended to 135oC on Annie Millers site. The Appleton bags you posted are up to 160oC. So two questions really;
I still find the bag crumples and distorts after PCing and with my problematic history with spawn bags, I am expecting holes somewhere. Do you thin the Appleton bags would fair better?
If so how do you go about using these for a spawn bag?
Cheers in advance

Cheers badman, a lot of help!
Defiantly put us down for a good few bags if anyone wants to spilt.
Just to trouble you for a few more details, do you knot and seal the bag before PCing and does this lead to any pressure problems with the seal on the filter? And finally where do you source your Tyvek from, is it simply a cut up overall suit?
Thanks bud

Egodeathflux and base, I'll go in on that Gypsum if you sort somthing out but a quick check looks cost prohibitive with shipping.
Base you cooked up anything interesting in the new PC? My spawn bags are currently looking quite happy so fingers x'ed

psilosibling I picked up some spent coffee grounds from Starbucks recently. They usually have a basket with bags they fill in the morning, get there early to be sure there available. I grabbed two bags so about 4-6 litres.

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good link for an impulse sealer?
I bought the cheapest one I could find on ebay, but its awful. It leaves pits and holes in the seal, lower the timer and it doesn't form a complete seal!
Cheers
