Jars were a bit of a bitch I ended up getting some REALLY cheap ones in Lidl, under 60p and large, they have all kinds. It's cheaper to buy full ones and that is fucked, I hated throwing away all that food but you can only eat so many peas 'n' carrots.. Spores101 have been very good and shipping is reasonable and quick. There are almost always cheap PCs in local 2nd hand ads, got a prestige for £10.

Top Tip for incubation: a fishtank heater in a 5ltr mineral water bottle in polystyrene/styrofoam box, amazing for under £10.

Hydroponic grow shops have all kinds of useful stuff, from humidifiers, to water to coir etc... Good places to check out, especially if you know someone who owns one.

Excellent source for 1000ml mason jars in UK. Very good price (best I have found) and cheap, fast delivery. This is the 3rd supplier I've tried to bulk order from and they are the only one to deliver as promised.

http://www.justpreserving.co.uk/deluxe-preserving-1000ml-pack-p-20003456.html

They come in 12's and work out around £1.65 each. The dimensions of these jars are posted previously somewhere in this gigantic thread.

Peace and tranquility to you all.

Oh almost forgot, may be able to lay my hands on lots of free analogue hygrometers, got a few for myself the other day from a friend who meets lots of reps from scientific research companies, they dish them out as promo freebies. They seem to work fine (3 next to each other give a constant reading). If I can get any more they will be going free to any UK users who want them. Details to follow.

Finally found some large capacity pressure cookers in the UK!! Less than £70 for 14litre cookers.
http://www.fiera.co.uk/Category/professional-pressure-cookers.aspx

From what I can tell it would work out best to get two of the 14litre buggers. The increase in dimensions is slight for the volume increase on the 18 and 22litre.

Anyway they're the only ones I've found that aren't the £300+ All Americans on ebay/Amazon.

They will hold 1000ml kilner/mason jars comfortably.

**They are all 15psi!!!

So the 14ltr arrived today and it looks good, weird design but very good size. Holds 5 1000ml mason/kilner jars easily, you could fit another couple of smaller ones too. Will try it out tomorrow and report back.

Yeah Base Icks, you should get some 1ltr. monster kilner jars they are so worth it, and they do look sweet all lined up and matching and whatnot.

Was it you who wanted to know about spare gaskets for the 22ltr Hawkins Big Boy PC? They are cheap and available from a ton of places, £2.95 upwards.

Any one know of a better deal than this?

I saw some Kilner jars in Wikinsons for £2 the other day hope they knock the price down in the sale.

I got those jars and they arrived in 36 hours. They are the cheapest I've found by quite a bit. They're good and solid and perfect in my cooker.

I can get 5 in if I put one on it's side on top. Plus a couple of mini grain jars for GLC, they colonise in a few days and are much easier to fill with sterile water. This way I get glc of everything without fucking with my spawn jars.

Those Kilner jars hold a lot of grain too, big jars kick ass.

GYPSUM.

Just searched my old emails to find this: http://www.gardendirect.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_228&products_id=742

Not the cheapest but not bad either and they delivered quickly. Gypsum is a bitch to find, I'd forgotten!

I had to buy a new US yesterday, mine died during the night. Had to buy locally as I needed it asap, went to tropical fish store and they had several. I upgraded to a 3 disc pebble type, kicks ass, fills a greenhouse in about 15 seconds. I just sit a kitty litter tray on the top shelf of the GH, that acts as a resevoir for the US which is run for 2 mins every 90min.

My GH is being refurbished, so no pics today. I needed to add a drip guard to deal with my monstrous new US. If anyone else is using 4 tier GH the lid from a standard curbside recycling bin fits PERFECTLY. I had one in the garden so luckily didn't have to steal one.. I'll try and remember to get some pics tomorrow when the lights are on.

TOP GH TIP:  If it's cold where you are and room temp isn't as high as you'd like attach one of those silver emergency blankets to the wall(s) around it. Mine sits in a corner so I have the back and one side reflecting the heat, raised my average temp in there by about from 64ish to 70ish.
