alright. so heres the background story.
i was at work the other day at the waffle house (worst place to have a job ever) and was washing off unused jelly packets when i noticed one was open at the corner a little bit, and i got curious and opened it.
green mold all over the top of the jelly, completley gross i know, especially in a restaraunt. when an idea hit me.
the jelly packets are little plastic tubs about 1 inch long and maybe 3/4 inch wide, and 1/2 inch high, filled about halfway with assorted kinds of jelly, and they are vaccuum sealed with a type of foil on top.
if i were to take some of these, and use them like agar, do you think it would work? i mean if it'll grow mold and nasty shit, why couldnt it grow mushroom mycelium? i would sterilize the top of the foil with alcohol, poke through it with the sterile syringe needle, inoculate, then quickly cover with tape.
just a thought, maybe it would work? any feedback?

it's not such a bad idea. the only setback i could see is you're not going to know when the mycelium have overtaken the jelly, since the container is not clear.
good luck if you try though. if it works, keep us posted!

In a glovebox. Remove top. Nocc up. Recover with plastic wrap. Might work.

JESUS dude! i think you may have a tek to contribute!
im gonna try it, just got a B+ print from a fellow shroomerite. its almost poetic to use a shroomery print for a shromery tek heh.

Wow this would be totally badass. I really hope someone can get this to work. I'll be sure to pick some up next time I go to a restaurant that has them.
