i was looking for some linkage or advice on breathing. i want to know relaxation, meditation, and reaching altered states of mind through different breathing techniques and patterns. im pretty much interested in anything related to different ways of breathing.

Here is a good link to a page on Zazen meditation, which focuses a lot on breathing practices.  It has illustrations and gives in-depth instructions on some very good breathing techniques and postures.  Check it out!

i heard if you prevent yourself for breathing for a really really long time you can go into a permanent sleep

The only state of mind you will probably get anywhere soon is zen, which is of course good. I have been meditating 2 times a day for 15 minutes, breathing through my nose in long slow breaths.

u guys notice how slow breathing becomes on mushrooms? I think thats why we get that weird gulping thing in the throat and why we start yawning later.

I've noted in the past that every drug seems to toy with my breathing... perhaps thats all drugs do  If we could learn how to breathe like any given drug causes us to breathe, we could trigger a "trip" on whichever at any time

doubt it though - just fun to think about

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

heh theory would work if the drug didnt release serotonin, dopamine and other chemicals. i see drugs as things that just release chemicals or brain produces naturally but in larger amounts. well some drugs that is, not all.
