Casing Question -- Jiffy Mix

Ok I found some Jiffy Mix at Lowes's that already has lime added for ph balance... no fertilizer... I want to use it as a casing layer. Can i sterilize this in the oven or must it use a pc???

I wet it and pasteurize in the microwave oven in a bag or a covered dish for 10 minutes on high.

more than likel u can use it in the oven as long as u can maintain the water content? u can also try the microwave? remember the pc is just a means to get a higher temperature. so its all good. i say use the microwave with a few holes poked in the seran wrap :/
