Hey found one of these guys at the edge of a golf course. It was about 1ft tall. Massive!
Wondering of its edible.. kind of forgot about it and its gone rotten. But if i see it again, im wondering.. can i eat it. My mum says no..

Yes, Macrolepiota procera are edible and good....but nobody here said tha's what you have, and you didn't include a picture....not even a description.
Since you had to ask if procera was edible, it is reasonable to doubt your skill and experience IDing mushrooms.
There is a very similar looking mushroom that is responsible for more poisonings than any other in the US.
It is called Chlorophyllum molybdites.
Want to take the gamble ?

Well.. Its true i am not experienced in Id'ing. I used another site - Rogers mushrooms, and was browsing the visual key. and it looks exactly like this.
Under edibility... it says choice.
Im living in Europe.
