24 Days too long for innoculation
    #1150773 - 12/18/02 06:33 AM (14 years, 9 months ago)

Im going to have all the equipment necessary to innoculate jars soon. I just got my pressure cooker and Im waiting on a hot plate. I was pondering as to whether I should innoculate them and leave them in my dorm over break. My RA wouldn't care if i had them so im not worried about that. I'm just wondering if innoculating them here, and leaving them is a good idea or not. I'd rather that then take them home because i wouldnt want my grandpa questioning them at all. If not i suppose i could put them in my friends appartment.

I think 24 days is a little long but...They shouldn't do anything bad as long as you keep them in a warm dark place...I innoculated about 1 1/2 weeks ago andill be gone from dec 27 to Jan 3 and im leaving them here...also you could bring them with you and just tell youre grandparents its part of a science experiment for class with bacteria or something...I mean comeon they are never gonna guess that they are shrooms. Also leaving them with your friend is easy to..Just pick one and dont worry so much

It'll be slower without a heat source, but best course of action is to innoculate now and not look at the for the weeks that you'll be gone.
