An Adelaide businessman has been sentenced to five years in jail after being convicted of trafficking drugs to Sydney.
The District Court in Adelaide was told that 56-year-old Wojciech Nasilowski was involved at a high level in the interstate cannabis trade, growing the plants in Adelaide for sale in New South Wales where he got a higher price.
Nasilowski was caught by police at Tailem Bend, south-east of Adelaide in March 2007, with 26 kilograms of cannabis hidden in his car.
The court heard Nasilowski had been experiencing financial difficulties when he committed the crime.
His sister, 45-year-old Dana Sky, was given a 12-month suspended sentence for allowing her brother to grow the cannabis at a house she owned at Crafers West in the Adelaide Hills.
