I have polypropylene petris..so they can be boiled and Pressure cooked. I poured a bunch of plates and some were done sloppy and as expected some in the btch got contam without even tranferring shit onto them. I just scraped out the agar and put the petri's into boiling water. They all had tiny contam/agar residue on them. Now, I want to PC them to re-use...however, should I make sure all residue is off each plate before PCing? Since i boiled them for 5 -10 minutes will it be alright for me to handle the plates with residue? ANy thoughts?
p.s. PLEASE do NOT tell me to "just use disposable ones." That's a politicians answer

I would think its best to remove all the "residue".
Yes, PCing should kill any contaminates, but if you still have agar on the plate, what is preventing another contaminate spore from reaching the nutritional medium after you PC it?

you want to clean your plates off well you could wash them with warm soapy water like you do pots, pans, cups ect... then dry them off wrap in foil and PC
