Oh, no doubt. I'm really trying to find a newb-friendly way to fruit them, then they really will be easier than cubes. But without renewable spores, it's LC or vendors, which is ok but less friendly and reliable. There's nothing like the feeling of tucking away a nice print in a safe location. So I'm trying cakes first. If it's possible (and it should be) to get a few reasonable fruits on PF cakes, I'm done.

So it turns out you can get ATL 7 to fruit using ordinary PF tek. Not really printable fruits, but maybe clonable. A skilled mycologist could probably do a swab once the cap opens, then grow that on agar. Anyway, I'm pretty stoked.

thats cool.
maybe a diff substrate mix with a layered pre-cased cake would help in fruiting them a lil better.
still, looking sweet!

Maybe. Next batch has a verm reservoir down the center, we'll see if that helps. Again, my goal here to find a newb-friendly approach. There's a lot of us who could grow ATL fruits using other techniques.

Yeah it is. I don't either- those are my first ATL fruits. I'm not surprised this worked, though. Now it's just a matter of tweaking it to get prints. Maybe these will make micro-prints, little spore dots on foil. That would be fine for trading, or for backing up your grow. Make one little 5 mL syringe from it. Wait and see, I suppose. I work the next few days, but I'll keep this updated if something changes.

Edit- I'm doing it. Stand by.

Woohoo! 14 grams of the prettiest stones I've grown. Not huge, but nicely round and symmetrical in a way that I haven't seen with WBS. I crumbled the rest of the cake, cased with MGMC straight out the bag, wet it, and put in the FC. I'll see if I can get somebody to bioassay these. If the math from Cervantes' thread holds up, this is close to 3 grams dried cubensis equivalent (dce? dqe?).
Pic in the middle shows one stone split in half- the inside is free of verm, and there is very little on the outside after I washed them. Certainly no more than you would find on shrooms. It looks pretty sparkly in the pic, but that's water drops too. But the other interesting stone in that pic has a black spot on one side- it was in the bottom of the jar, and has been touching the foil. I may switch to plastic or tyvek instead.

There's some mini-stones. I didn't case the edible ones. Trying to replicate what a newb might do, if that makes sense. But I'll say this- a batch of cakes would be enough stones for some guy and his friends. I shot these with MS LC on Nov. 1st. 14 grams per cake in three weeks, not bad at all.

It smelled so bad, I only used it once. Both those tubs failed, but I'll take the blame. So I have half a bag of fast blast I'll re-gift to somebody else.
