I have mycellium on agar with brown concentric ring about 6mm from the wedge of mushroom. The ring is the same color as the wedge, the rest of the mycellium is white. Does lepiota rachodes mold stain brown? Also how do you get the lumps out of the mixture when you use the agar that comes in rectangular form? And thanks to those of you who contribute to this forum, it inspired me to get off my butt and grow some edibles instead of just reading about it.
I'll look up the L. Rachodes in a few minutes, but for your agar question - just use a recipe from the mush cult faq, then shake it before pouring your dishes, there wont be any lumps, unless you didn't get it hot enough, or let it cool too far.
