How to use Neem oil against mites infestation ?

I have a small Shiitake mushroom cultivation. The substrates are made of sawdust supplemented with wheat bran. There is occurring an infestation by mites that invade the bags and feed on the mycelium, causing the disappearing of the mycelium .
Has anyone used Neem oil against infestation by mites ?
Can this oil prevent or keep the mites away from the substrate bags of sawdust?
I would just like to spray the external surface of the plastic bags . Please, someone could tell me how to use this oil ?
The idea is to prevent the mites climb the outer walls of the plastic bags and have access to the inner substrate passing by the filter under the lids of the bags.
Any help will be welcome.
Cheers,
Wilson

I've never used neem oil in mushroom cult, only on my plants to battle spider mites.
It worked well, but you have to spray every 2-3 days for two full weeks maybe even three if it's a bad infestation. The oil kills the eggs and larva, but I'm pretty sure it's not very effective in killing the adults. Basically, the plan is to continue spraying every couple days to keep killing off the eggs and young ones until the surviving adult's life cycle is over.
Applying this to mushroom cultivation might be a little different. Mites lay their eggs on the plants, so you can spray the hell out of them, but who knows where they're laying their eggs in your situation. Hopefully not inside your bags... Obviously you can't spray inside the bag, but definitely try spraying the outside area for two weeks. See if you can find where they're coming from, and target that area with neem as well. Hopefully you can get this all cleared up.
Your brand of neem oil might be different but the instructions for mine were to just mix 2 tablespoons per gallon of hot water, add a little dish soap, and shake like crazy. Keep shaking while spraying since the mixture will separate readily.
Good luck! Although I've never experienced them in this hobby, I know those little guys can make you wanna pull your hair out.
