is bluing normal?
    #1147966 - 12/17/02 05:43 AM (21 years, 2 months ago)

on one of my cakes the mycelium is bluing. i thought it was due to me misting them with H2O2+water but now the bluing is migrating up the stem of the mushroom. they stopped growing for like 2 days so i picked em and there was really no resistance kinda like the bases were rotting or something. the shrooms werent mature yet. i broke the cake in half and there were no visible contaminants. are the shrooms safe to eat and is my cake contaminated?

This is normal...Bluing occured when you touched the cake sometime....
The soft stems might come from over watering though...Stop misting...
And, what did you do with the broken cake? You can still flush it!

Ya its normal if you touch them or mist alot, which my friend did as well, but i don't think it effects em much cause my friend has tons of pin growth now, the tops are blue, but bottoms are full of life
