mushrooms as pets
    #1147354 - 12/17/02 01:26 AM (14 years, 5 months ago)

hmmm. first - be gentle with me, i am high and smiling. for the next few hours, i'm a-sitting and a-playing on the computer with casings in the tubs on the bed next to me. perlite on the bottom, fanning a few times a day, temps 70's.

they're fruiting, but so far the fruits haven't been too big, and they didn't flush so mush as drip. i just been doing the pick wait pick wait pick tek i read about earlier.

here's my question: would my shrooms benefit from me taking the lids off for a few hours to reduce humidity, kinda like treating them to some fresh air?

like giving my kitten a ball of paper to play with.

I dont think you would benifit from that. What strain are you using? Substrate? How many times a day are you fanning?
any other details?

you substrate is not very deep, which can (I've found) lead to small fruits.

thats definately leading to small fruits. 2 cakes should be in a small bread pan tray type thing. they wont fruit heavily in big containers unless there is more substrate. You might be fanning to much as well. Try 1 or 2 times a day with that size and lack of mycelium mass

eww thats a tough one. I would personally wait, but you might find better results from moving it. Just my opinion
