does anyone know what woods psilocybe cyanescens will grow on? i cant get alder so im looking for a list of other substrates will work. thanks boards members!

u can use maple.. but i would also like to know what other woods.... around here we can get smoking chips like hickory and mesquite.. pecan is available...

if the p cyans grow like azures, you can use strips of soaked cardboard instead of wood.

All of these will work for cyans and azures
beech, oak, birch, chestnut, alder, maple, cottonwood, willow, aspen, poplar, elm , spruce, douglas fir, sweet gum, sycamore

im 90% sure you can use maple. and im 100% sure of using unsteralized soaked cardboard. the unsteralized soaked cardboard is in the mushroom cultivator. thanks for the response shobimono!!!!!! are you sure spruce works?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!? I HAVE A TON OF THAT!!!!!!

my eyes have lit up like a little kid in a candy store! i read that cyans need weeks of near freezing weather. i live in the perfect conditions if this is so.
 amanitas and cyans what more could i ask for. i think ive struck the holy grail of shroomage!
