No. Being a giver is just a state of mind. Just like the yes man

You just said I can never fully understand.. anyway, you're just ignoring the question by saying "you can never fully undertand". How is refusing to give me an anwer being a "true giver"?

It's one of the principles of psychodynamics.
The interplay between the conscious and unconscious.

An introvert is consciously aware of their inner world. Unconsciously they are aware of their outer.
An extravert is consciously aware of their outer world. Unconsciously they are aware of their inner.

It's along a spectrum, but those who see themselves as only giving, are clearly unaware of the ways in which they take. Hence, consciously they are givers, unconsciously they are takers. For all intents and purposes, that would make them a giver. They experience (are conscious of) only the ways in which they give.

Can any of this actually be proved?

Depends on what kind of proof you're looking for.
I think it's pretty hard to deny that we all give and take energy.

Giving is selfless. Anything less is borrowing ...

Everybody needs energy.  The question is how they procure this energy.  Do they take it forcibly without asking?  Or do they ask nicely and let me give the energy to them?  If the former then they're probably a Taker.  If the latter then they're probably a Giver because I'm either repaying an energetic debt or giving energy to them with the expectation of being paid back.

People learn quickly not to give energy out if they never receive anything in return.  In the long run this is why the intelligent Taker will become a Giver: the best way to receive a lot is to give a little.

I once watched a "Lamb of God" concert and the more you gave, even more they gave back.

In a way, evolution feeds from such selfless acts. Man is one of the few sentient beings capable of choosing to wish for a return, or not, regarding a determined action. A cause and an effect. Whether or not you consider free will a possibility, no deterministic model can overcome such human trait. So eloquent and full of bull ... beautiful nevertheless, but above all useful !

Does this not seem a bit contradictorily?
Many people do not want to take? So how can a true giver give them anything, if they do not want it?

Consciously  or unconsciously, it matters not. How is to determine, how much good or bad is provided based on conscious or unconscious action. If I require something, and I receive it, by some giver. It matters to me not whether giver was aware of it or not.
