if this is all you have, then yes, go ahead. try to sterilise it first by nuking it (wet first!) in a microwave for 5 mins, then put it on top, nice and wet, once it has cooled down. Hope it's not so fine as to be like sand or dust, though, as this would not be so good...

if its very fine, it will probably work better. a layer of 1-2 cm is a wall against contaminants (use an alu foil on top 2).

sorry that i didnt replied earlier - u should have PMed me man

Virtually any vermiculite should work as long as its sterilized.

I've had better results with a 1/2 to 1 Inch top layer of verm/peat moss or just verm alone as a top casing layer..

Don't ask me why but it just works better in my opinion

i think its better to write in english, for the rest of our friends in here

well, some say that verm has to be sterilized first, but personally i dont think so. I have never ever sterilized any verm and never had problems with that.

really?!?! that's cool man! i thought that 90% i would fail!!! so if you dont sterilise it either then i have chances to have a successful casing;-) how many days do u put in for incubation?

i repeat: some sterilize verm, i dont.

wait till u see myc popping out of the verm layer. u can patch it (put more verm there) so as to make an even flush. when the myc has arrived in some areas, its time to put it in the terrarium. So, it depends on the strain and the temp of the incubator.

PATIENCE
DONT MESS WITH IT
