Given that there is a strain of psy. cubensis Mexicana, I'd have to believe that you could find cubes there when the weather lines up right. There's no doubt that shrooms exist i n Mexico.. read the following primer on Mexico mushroom 'cults' etc.:

http://psychicinvestigator.com/Drugs/Psilocy.htm

"In 1957, Life magazine published a 17-page spread written by Mr.  Wasson about his voyages up to Huautla and into inner space.  Millions read the piece, including a Harvard professor named Timothy Leary.

Dr.  Leary raced down to Mexico and soon set up the Harvard Psilocybin Project, turning on colleagues, students and friends like Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac.  By the time the United States outlawed psychedelic drugs like psilocybin in 1966, scholars say, more than one million people had taken them.

In the 1960's, thousands of Americans on psilocybin pilgrimages made their way up the newly built road to Huautla, a glorified goat path that climbs 45 miles and 378 hairpin turns from the two-lane highway below.  There were Beatles songs playing in the streets, remembers Henry Munn, an anthroplogist who first visited in 1965. "

^^ from :http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v02/n882/a02.html

and then there's this guide (I have no idea how good it is):

A Guidebook to the Psilocybin Mushrooms of Mexico
by Big D Unlimited Staff
Paperback - November 1976
List price: $3.00
Lowest price on 12/06/2002: $3.00

^^ found: http://www.allbookstores.com/browse/NAT022000:9

So I guess if you pump Google enough ways I'm sure you'll find your anwser if no one chimes in here.

Peace!

Given that there is a species Ps. mexicana...
i would think the the season in many parts of mexico coincides with whatever the rainy season is, seeing as how many parts are almost always within the friuting temps of, say, cubensis.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

There are 38 species, all of which have been used or are in use by different tribal groups during different seasons of the year. The proimary rainy season for where the majority of the sacred shroom grow is in the Mexican State of Oaxaca high in the Sierra Mazateca range.

It is in this Mexican state that 7 tribal groups employ these wondrous mushrooms.

Leayr's shrooms came from a Harvard Colleague Frank Baron who bought them from an elderly lady named Crazy juana in the market place and took them back to the Villa he and Leary where staying at. They ate them and that was the beginning.

Rainy season in Oaxaca is from Late June through August.

But Both Copelandia and P. cubes can grow throughout the year depepnding on temperaturee and weather conditions.

Nights in some hot regions can also get very cold.

Hautla de Jimenez is the place where Albert Hoffman made his "Discovery" of the majic mushroom, guided by a woman named Maria Sabina. Good luck getting to Hautla, though, as it is a 9-12 hour bus ride from Oaxaca City, north east. This is the season, though. Check out a lonely planet guide to Mexico...should help you.

Sorry but your information is in correct,
Albert Hofman first ate psilocybine in his Sandoz laboratory and then a second time with his lab colleagues.

He ate The leaves of Salvia Divinorum with Maria Sabina who along with Wasson and Albert Hofmann's wife ate mushroom pills broought to MExico by Hofmann as a gift for Maria Sabina.

Yo can read some of Hofmann's adventures att the following URL.

Or in the Sacred Mushroom Seeker which is more on his trip to mexico.

The belwo URL is from LSD my Problem Child translated from the German by Jonathan Ott.

Oh yes the season is from late June through August so the primary season haS BEEN over for a few months now. It won't rain regularly again until late June next year.
