My mac thinks burnt dvds are blank?
    #11447814 - 11/13/09 03:07 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

i've got an intel pentium dual core 2.0ghz mac.
and i've burnt several dvds on a different mac using 'Toast Titanium'.
the dvds played fine on that other mac.

but then i put them in my computer and it reads them as blank, and asks what i want to do with it..
{the files are .avi  but might be divx.avi?}

i've tried burning it as;        a 'dvd-rom',  a 'divx video file'
and am currently trying a 'dvd-video' but it asked me if i wanted it in two different formats; {one suitable for tv one not}

i'm really confused, how can i burn on one mac, and read on another?

I'm not exactly sure how mac's function because I'm an original windows guy but If you go right into the DVD from your computer (on windows its %drive%:/computer/%DvDdrive%) and just copy and paste the video file into there and then you open the DVD from the drive and take the file off whenever you want.

Or you could try going to the disk like formentioned and seeing if you can't see the burnt content from the drive, if so, you might be able to run it from the disk through there or just copy and paste to desktop or wherever.

Para todos todo, para nosotros nada

but the Dvd doesn't even show up after you click ignore...*
so you can't even open it up in a window.

*Blank Disc Inserted what do you want to do....

it's quite a longness really..  i read about it happening to people with mac books..
but my machines a step up from that..
