 Store bought agaricus button on agar. Brown mycelium

I cloned some inner tissue of an Agaricus mushroom to agar.
The following day the tissue turned black...hmmm
Then I saw signs of growth around it soon after.
It looks textured like mycelium except it's a light brown color. Definite brown.
ANyone else experience something like this?

I dropped some inner tissue of a. bisporus on agar about a week ago. Both pieces turned black so I figured they died. However, a few days later, nice white mycelium started stretching out from around the dead looking pieces. It's definitely white, not brown though.

Check out the agar culture plates on this site and you will see quite a few Agaricus plates have brown mycelium, particularly if on PDA. You can search for the various species and see plates on various mediums.

It looks like Gribi's mycelium has some brown to it too. I wonder what that is, some kind of metabolite ?

I might get some pics up.
I'm just too excited about my Laetiporus Sulphereus isolate...
I hope to trade it for some shiitake myc on agar. (or lions mane or enoki)
I could by plug sawn but it's just so cool and fun growing it out on my own
