i'm gonna try to case with peat moss, oyster shells, and lime. went to the garden store, lady said there was no such thing as hydrated lime. they just had a big white paper bag of lime pellets she said. do I just add water to the pellets to make them hydrated, or is this a different thing altogether?

Hey man I went out to do exacly the same as you today! (& i live on the other side of the world....ish) I got some lime but it doesnt say its Hydrated, however it does say that it is used for sweetening the soil, reducing acidity, I remember reading somewhere that this is what hydrated lime does so I figure Ive got the right stuff

we'll soon know eh.

check out the 50/50+ casing tek on thehawkseye.com........theres an update that reccomends you use calcium carbonate instead of the hydrated lime because alot of people burn their mycelium w/ h.l.
