Alright...A couple years back, I got into the whole picking of mushrooms...Azurescens to be exact...Now, after I pick a decent amount, I have to manicure them for consumption...So, I use scissors and cut the bottom white, dirty, ugly part of the shroom...Know, I had soo freakin many butts to deal with, so I threw them in my backyard in hopes that someday they would mysteriously reapper...And, as of today, December 16, 2002, I have had 2 flushes so far this season...When I threw out the butts a couple years back, I just tossed them onto some beauty bark and grass...Its pretty crazy to think that they can grow from the butt...lol...and without any care...Anyways, how long does a spot usually produce? Has anyone ever tried this, or heard of it? I guess its just natures way of natual reproduction...Im not complainin! Just wanted to share...Peace! 420!

That is pretty sick, it sounds like you've accomplished with no understanding of cultivation whatsoever what some people try and try for years.  I'm befuddled  But good job, if you can call it that. :smirk:

possibly the spores fell from the gills onto the part of the mushroom you are talking about and whenever you tossed the butts there the spores on them germinated
im probably wrong anyway

...hypothetically speaking of course.

I think you just need to keep feeding them some new wood chips every year to keep them happy. I could be wrong, but i'm sure i read that somewhere. Make sure they're the correct type of wood though. Don't ask me what the correct type of wood is though, i don't know that either.

Sounds great though.
