Still no pins - Help!
    #1143594 - 12/15/02 04:32 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

If anyone read my post a while back, it was about mycobags and them not pinning after 4 weeks. I re-cold shocked them last wednesday for 16 hours or so and they are getting 10 hours of light per day.

They have yet to show any pins, and I was concerned that it may be due to poor air exchange, then again I have no idea what im doing. If anyone else has ordered the new "upgraded" mycobags, they come deflated without any air in them, and they are supposed to expand as the mycelium grows, well mine barely expanded at all. Should I open up the bags and fan them, then seal them with more air inside the bags? I am also considering fruiting one of them PF style.

daussaulit, You took one of yours out and fruited it didnt you? Could you fill me in with further detail? I know you had a log but you didnt go into too much detail.

If anyone else has any other ideas please fill me in, I would like to fruit most of them in the bag, if possible.

I will try to post pictures in the future.

thanks in advance.

First off, please tell me you drive a '96 prelude, that would be great.

Why do you want to fruit it in the bag?

high there.

although i dont know about mycobags (i have one that was a gift and still isnt colonized), there are some truths and standards that apply to all of the methods of cultivation.

to initiate pinning, u need 5 things:

1) increase in humidity
2) satisfactory air exchange
3) light
4) drop in temperature (for some species)
5) mycelium's compliance  lol

so, if your bag is 100+% colonized, u have to open the bag. u have to let air exchange a few times a day and to make sure that its enviroment is humid enough.

so now it depends on what you want / are willing to do. u can fruit it on the bag or u can even case it, using common casing teks i pressume - after all its a mycelium once u open the bag, so handle it as you think its best.

Thanks.

I dont want to set up a big rubbermaid terranium to maintain humidity, so should I just mist water down over the cake before I seal it back up after I fan it?
