None of us experience much of this world. The variety of experience is seemingly infinite. One could grow up in Rwanda in the early 90's or one could grow up in a small town in western Pennsylvania.
I get what you are saying though. Trying new things is definitely awesome but I'm sure living a life more "by the book" is a trip in its own right. The experience is still bound to be unique because of the diversity offered by reality and interesting to the person living it because they have only that one consciousness to experience

I know tons of "psychonauts" who just take drugs in their apartment and read/listen to music. They never go out and try anything new. They might listen to new music, use new meditation techniques, but the idea that psychedelics can replace real-life experience has robbed us of many a great thinker AND doer. And of course it works the same for sXe kids. So many of them are extremely close-minded because they haven't had the doors in their mind blown off the hinges. They will never study or explore vast regions of the human psyche because the physical is all that exists to them.
Anything you can get from drugs, you can get elsewhere. But extremely limited drug use can definitely give you a shove in the right direction.

Muppet said: so many people I come across in this world live in such tiny little bubbles, that they experience so very little of what it means to actually be alive...and that's not to say that drug culture has some sort of majikal effect on experiencing existence (cause gawd knows I've known plenty of crackheads that revolve their entire existence around simply scoring another hit) but it seems to me that the people who are drawn to drugs are also generally the same types of people who aren't afraid to try new things from time to time
it must suck to not have the desire to open yourself up to the things of this world
most people who do drugs, just want to avoid sobriety. they want to run and hide from life, where they have been, where they are, and where they are going.
some people just dont feel the need to use chemicals to alter their mindsets, some people look to their own minds to do this. and if someone can get to the mindset they want without drugs, i think they are much better off than someone who needs drugs to do this. then, it is all internal for them, and something you create for yourself using your own will, can not be taken from you.

I like to try something new whenever i get the chance. It keeps my mind fluid and the knowledge u gain from constantly doing new shit is priceless. Why would someone not want to do something they havent done before? even if i dont like whatever it is i still try to do it just to gain the experience of the event. I cant stand doing the same shit day after day. Some people like that security tho. They like the fact that nothing unexpected is gonna happen and they know exactly how their life is gonna go. I know tons of people like this. Personally thats no way to live tho. U might as wwell be a fuckin robot or some shit. Its wack.
