Bat guano is a known carcenogen and should be avoided.

Liberty caps are very hard to cultivate and always in such short crops of a few and not generally more than a dozen in a flask. They gorw naturally attached tot he roots of wild grasses so that might be a problem. They are like the blue ringers in a lwan.

However in some parts of the world they grow well in any manured lawn or field as in England and Holland and gGErmany. I have e er picked them i the arboretum here in Seattle i the late 1970s and again in the early 1980s at southcenter on boeing lawns

mj.

But they are hard to cultivate.

I have posted imagess of them before in cultivation.

These frogs multiply by the millins in southeast Asia during and after the rainy season. I have seen hundreds of them in hot climates and millions on the road from Aranyaphphet on the Cambodian border to Xiem Riap at angkor Wat. They are all over the trucks when traveling the roads. thousands of them for miles on end.

Hawaii and Australia the same with the bufo toads. at the right time of the year there are hundreds of them siting on these Amazonian lily pads and shitting all over. IT could be collected as well as like bat guano.

Pigeon shit is another commodity that few have studied yet they stack piles of it on rooftops under their perches and their nests.

Just wwondered if it would worl. I mean peaple use muffin mix, rice cakes and other stragge mediums these days. WHy not frog shit?

Frogs eat other animals and insects, high in protein. Horse and cow manure is used because they're vegetarians. Stuff like lion manure which is the left over of fat and protein would be no good.

You ever seen an elephant shit?like in big balls about coconut size?i plan on getting a couple from the local zoo sterilizing them and injecting spores(of P.c) straight in.
Or may be spawing them but i wont it to hold its shape so ill prob go with the spore injection.
Hope fully it will make a good picture  its consistency is not far from horse shit but more fiberous than cow poo.
im also thinking geese and swan shit would work as they eat grass mainly as well.
But as to frog shit it should work well as frogs mainly eat insects like bats do,so should make For high nitrogen content.
Side note
Mr mj do you know of many people being able to cultivate liberty caps out doors?
im thinking about pulling up some turf(Say 20 feet square)puting in a layer of well rotted sheep manure (about 2")spawning it,then replacing the the turf layer straight onto the spawn(with bare roots making contact with  the spawned seed)
And just leting nature take its course. This is a spring plan.
Any idears or comment anyone

elephant balls  hehe that would make a grate pic .
ammomnia might be a problem though ,maybe get some dry balls and rehydrate them with h2o2 solution ,and inoculate w/ mycelium  ?
i would love to see pan.cyan. growing on one of those

>Liberty caps are very hard to cultivate

i know this ,they seem to be very particular of their habitat ,they do grow here tho ,albeit few and far between .but they provide the most pleasant trip i have ever had (i recommend 3 or 4 eaten fresh to put a  on your face) thats why it is  one of my favorite projects .

>They gorw naturally attached tot he roots of wild grasses

i didn't know this .do you think it might be a simbiot ?
maybe ill try germinating some grass seed and inoculating that .
there are experiments going on with truffles and hazel seedlings .

im looking for some fresh spores now ,what i have doesn't seem to be as aggressive as it was last year .

i've lived in Manoa vally . bufos are no joke .bufo is pigeon for bull frog ,they are actually an oversized toud ,somtimes as large as a small dog . about once a year they come out to feed on swarming termites .if your porch light is left on termites swarm the light and bufos will swarm your porch by the 100s ,(not exaduration). btw bufos are poisonous to pets .

i hear you been pickin' da'kine down there in florida bra  make a batch of pop cycles for me
