Finally, time to make for the thread creation! Having bountiful experiences here in the new habitat of the Pacific northwest; what a welcoming! Here are some photographs of the recent edible finds, hopefully a reliable camera will be available for use in the near future to ensure greater number of habitat photographs. At the end of this posting I will include a link to my active specie finds which are located in a specific thread. I hope you enjoy!

Porcini, The King Bolete (Boletus edulis) and biggest fan from the Wookie clan, Chewbacca! This particular specie was loving the spruce; it happens to be a mycorrhizal with conifers, especially spruce.

The Pacific Golden Chanterelle (Cantharellus formosus) Final amount, one gallon bag of dry fruits, great winter treat!
The White Chanterelle (Cantharellus subalbidus) One small group of this specie was found and mixed in with the other Golden specie speciens.
Hedgehog, Sweet Tooth (Hydnum repandum) Several loose specimens, displayed in the last photograph, surprised to find any of this particular specie this early in the season.
Yellow-foot Chanterelle (Craterellus tubaeformis) Single specimen, difficult to distinguish in the final photograph, another rarity for this early in the season.
Thank you for viewing the edible part of my recent collection, here is the link to send you to my active collections: Tikaani's Medicine Enjoy the great awareness of which the fungi offer to remind us of! Please repay the gesture of intention, make new homes and spread some spores! Have fun(gi)!

I was visiting a friend in the Seattle area last weekend and we got a chance to go on a quick chanterelle hunt.

Just enough for dinner:

Spotted a bunch of these growing in mulch while I was on the standard Seattle tour.

And this was growing alongside the path in a wooded park:

Beautiful area- can't wait to go back.

Are we supposed to post our finds too? Or is this a thread for your collection?

Found it while scoping out a house for rent. Anytime I am hunting and see a 'For Sale' sign or 'For Rent', I scope out the fungal situation in their yard.

I am not positive of what this is, a King maybe?
Whatever the hell it is, it is a monster. At least ten inches across, and probably five pounds wet.

Any suggestions on how to eat it, or what species it is?

Okay, time to catch up on my digital mycelial dose!
The Pacific Golden Chanterelle (Cantharellus formosus)

Yellow-foot Chanterelle (Craterellus tubaeformis) Fluted Black Elfin Saddle (Helvella lacunosa)

(Hypholoma capnoides) This was such a tease when I found the pins shooting up through a woody humus mound!
Bitter Bolete (Boletus rubripes) An undesirable tasting Bolete; just some extra viewing pleasure!
Porcini, The King Bolete (Boletus edulis) Spotted these babies from the corner of my eye while traveling in my truck on the way to the beach! The one on the left has multiple slug wounds which have been under repair along the way; very interesting!
The Purple Fairy Club (Clavaria purpurea) Another optical sensory pleasure, non oral delight though excellent for dye creation!

Delicious Milk Cap (Lactarius deliciosus) This specie was flourishing within the grasses of the seaside!

Blewit (Lepista nuda) The smell of this specie is so refreshing in my opinion.
Well thank you again for viewing the edibles of the recent missions. Here is a link to the other components of the recent collections: Tikaani's Medicine Please offer these amazing organisms a beautiful gesture of kindness! They offer us so much! Keep spreading the mycelium and spores!
