Apparently Canada is the biggest user of debit cards anywhere in the world.
My friend was telling me he always had to go to ATM machines in the US.
Is it true they don't even accept debit cards at McDonald's down there?

they're about to start.
fast food has always been loathe to accept debit/credit because of the extra time to sign.
however, i read an article saying mcdonalds was gonna start adding it like they have at gas stations with no signature required, and it's gonna be faster than cash purchases.
they don't fear theft because of the low cost of mcdonalds (unlike walmart where you can purchase thousands of $$$ worth of shit). not like anyone checks your signature anyway
not that i go to mcdonalds anyway, but i'm all for the spread of credit/debit purchases

Las Vegas must've been a test market for the US when it comes to debit cards. I have been using my debit card to buy everything for about 5 years. Gas stations, fast food, grocery stores, mini-markets, retail stores, hardware stores, and the list goes on. They all take debit cards here and have done so for years. I almost never even carry any cash these days. Only times I use cash is when I go to a bar.

signatures? I dont sign anything when I use my debit, I have a pin number... are we talking about credit cards?
The rationale for most places not accepting debit is the time it takes to make the transaction.. If everyone in line at a fast-food joint like mcdonalds were to use debit, it'd be more like... slow-food.

Every McDonalds I know of takes debit cards down here. And they're via pin # not signing a slip. And it takes about 10 seconds to process. And they charge you 50 cents for using it, the bastards.

You don't need to sign anything for debit cards here. There's practically no place that doesn't accept them. Just swipe, enter your PIN, and you're good.

I ordered a Pizza recently and I was able to pay the driver with my bank debit card...they have remote access Interac machines...very cool.

debit cards are a universal druggie tool of sorts.
why i even use my debit card to scrape the flesh from the hide of fresh large game kills. my debit card number is 123-45607899-08 exp 3/04. lets all share!

And also the perfect way for goverment agencys to keep track of what you buy where and when. Then use this information to come up with a psychological profile with all the other info they have, so they know what your going to do before you do. Maybe I am just paranoid. Still use em though to buy stuff.
