Sorry, but this guy is a lot more cuddly and softer.

Vet bills tend to get expensive with those. I'd rather get a monitor lizard, it can feast on the neighborhood cats so I'd never have to buy food for it.

That's just stupid and unrealistic.

Maybe the eating cats part but even that really isn't considering some species eat deer, getting a monitor lizard isn't unrealistic at all, you just contact someone who breeds them.

Your face is stupid and unrealistic.

I was thinking about getting a monitor lizard. They sell 'em real cheap locally. I just couldn't have the heart to feed them live food; rats, mice, etc. I keep a rat as a pet, and I've grown real fond of the rattus genus.

I'm a fan of cats. I kept scaly things (geckos) for a while, but they weren't particularly cuddly, made crazy noises, were hard to catch if they got out, and liked sinking their teeth into my fingers on a frequent basis.

I've got two Maine Coons at the moment. Someday I'd like an Ocelot like Salvador Dali.

Yeah, I've looked into getting one too but I'm holding off until I can figure out my housing situation.

They actually sell canned food for them, you can always feed them insects as well.

I heard they are individually picky. Some only eat live, while others only eat frozen.

Never heard of the canned food, but that sounds like the best of the both worlds almost.

I might reconsider once I have a steady flow of income.

i have an argentiune black and white tegu which is like a monitor .  its pretty brutal watching it eat mice. it grabs there tail or foot and smashes em side to side into a pulp basically.  then you can here the little bones crack when it bites the mouse. :kittyeagle:  are you hungry?

ps OP is that a water dragon?

argentine b&w seem like the coolest lizards. easiest to tame and you can actually train them to come to you like a dog.

Yes it is. I've heard they're not the easiest breed to tame but I spend at least a hour a day with mine and even trained him to poop  when I first pick him up so he won't go on me later. He hates his cage so I end up packing him around the house in my robe, or sitting him on my shoulder. He is def my fav animal
