-P.R.'s are great shrooms, but not for beginners. They grow so robustly that you have to balance fresh air to meet CO2 dispersal and keep up humidity.Overlay is a problem with this variant.I cold shock when the casing shows 20 % in the vally's of the casing. The one's i've grown are intense(1.5 gms. is a mean dose)

all what i know about pr's is that it takes a damn long time to colonize a myco bag if it is at all anyway

Well you have to explain your setup first.

yeh thats no problem, heres my current set up:

I started with two quarts rye and two quarts millet but the millet formed a big mass and is slowly colonizing (serving as a culture backup) but used two quarts to spawn some compost and it colonized fine but when i started fanning and giving light it went green.

I put my casings in a square see thru plastic file box (say about 20"x20"x20") it fits large oven pans perfect- I have one small bubbler stone in a wine glass of water that is re-filled when needed and usually stays on the whole time
Everything is fine up till the myc starts to take casing and I start giving it light and air

I want to say that my problem is I dont drop the rh enough and my box is too humid for my casing when I give it light and air as there is much condensation on the walls and top but I dont know if thats why it starts to go green or not

Ive also tried crumbling 4 pint cakes into three different bread pans and then casing those too and same thing happened to them-- casing colonized (one completely) and then it started turning green

Im thinking I might just get one or two colonized jars and store them in the fridge for later use (maybe) because Ive got an Allen syringe and something else I cant remember right now, my head hurts Im so stoned

My first attempt was prs and it was pittyful. I didnt know about this site. i thought you needed a kit to grow and couldnt find much info so i bought a 20 gallon aquarium jumped a nearby cow fence scooped some cow shit in a bag threw it in the aquarium put some seran wrap on top and squirted my pr syringe from spore works in it 20 times haha doesnt relate to your subject but whoever reads this will get a laugh atleast. and im actually gonna grow some prs in 4 pint jars and case 50 50 to make up for my stupidity

Hey your setup is too wet I think. I dont really get your setup though as I am tired at the moment. I think your setup would be good for cakes but not casings, too humid. How many times do you fine?
