i couldn't find a similar thread that was less than 2 years old so i thought i would start a new one.

it's been a long time since i had a really REALLY good reading.  for a while i was going about once every 4 months to this AMAZING woman in the east village.  we even did a past life regression reading once that blew my mind and left me in tears.

one day i show up for my quarterly reading and she was gone, on a spiritual journey; or so her gypsy niece who had taken over the business said.  :/  the reading the niece gave me was so....soulless.

i am waiting patiently for another gifted reader to come into my life......

why not buy a deck for yourself, practice with it, study it, and perhaps buy The Book of Thoth or a similar book?

Yea, why look externally for something you can find within yourself?

If you do decided to dive into the Tarot, may I recommend the books 'Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom' and 'Learning the Tarot' by Joan Bunning. These books make great compliments.

I wouldn't say I'm ready to do readings for other people by any means. Learning about the Tarot, the Hero's Journey and Archetypes, can be very fulfilling and rewarding, in my opinion even more so than actual readings. But to each his own, you may be more interested in the divination aspect. I still need to refer to the book when I do readings (which is rare), but it isn't hard to interpret. It just memorization from there. You'll find your way. And your definitely the person you've been waiting for!

i am interested in all aspects of the tarot.

i bought this book called clairvoyance, and through a series of tests it told me that i may have a natural aptitude for tarot, and guides you in making a deck for yourself.  maybe i will make that my thanksgiving weekend project?

also will add your recommendations to my books to buy list.
