Michio Kaku, anything really but Hyperspace was pretty good. just skip the intro biography unless you care.

oh and do you prefer intelligent books or fiction? Wheel of time was a good series, ending soon...

I got the first book at a yard sale for like 50 cents.  Totally awesome purchase.

Check out anything by Robert Anton Wilson (Prometheus Rising, Cosmic Trigger, Quantum Psychology are all really good ones), DMT: The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman, and Food of the Gods by Terence McKenna.  If you're looking for some excellent, trippy sci-fi, check out Philip K. Dick.

Man I didn't know that Don Juan shit was like that, I'm gonna check some outtt.

I love classic literature.  Can't go wrong with anything by Hemingway, Steinbeck, Thompson, or Kerouac.

If I were to pick a book by each that I have found the most eye-opening, it would go like this:

Steinbeck: The Grapes of Wrath or Cannery Row
Hemingway: The Sun Also Rises or For Whom the Bell Tolls
Thompson: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (of course) or Hell's Angels
Kerouac: Dharma Bums or On the Road

I gave two for each, the first set are the best.  There's a good variety of length and theme there.  They're all great.

Utopia, Sir Thomas Moore--Super wordy and intense with random latin my latin teacher didnt understand, but a good book.
The Picture of Dorian Grey, Oscar Wilde. Has some great quote worthy lines in it.
Mycelium Running
, Paul Stamets
