Cooling ideas

Hey i have had a read and there are people growing in temps up to 37 degrees but where i live it gets up to 45 centigrade sitting around 38 to 40 most of the time, our summers are fuckin warm lol and from what i have read i am best to go with a Ecudorian, Amazonian, Texas, Cambodian is this correct? I like the colonizing speed of the Cambo so i would probably go that. Also if the weather is too hot where i am has anyone come up with an idea to keep temps under control i read about someone using a ice pack, anyone know how effective this is? Cheers

back in the day i cooled a PMP with icepacks when my airconditioner farted out on me. it worked but man was it a pain in the ass changing them out 3 times a day, also, if you do this make sure you put them in some sort of tray to collect all the condensation so you dont have pools of water forming on your floor.

They're all the same species, so the temperature requirements are the same for each 'strain'.
In the winter it gets fairly cold here (plus I'm a total cheapass with the heat) so I just keep a small spare bedroom heated. Perhaps you could keep a small room cooled with an ac unit?

AC is the best.
Other than that ice water, which will keep cold longer than just ice. you could try a tub-in-tub type application.

If you use ice, freeze quart size blocks of ice, screw ice trays :-D

'Strain' means two things- the name on the syringe, and also a set of genetic factors. Although they are all the same, there is some variance. You will find some that grow better in your conditions- cultivate those, and try to grow out new generations from spores. By repeatedly mating and growing and selecting, you should be able to select a warm-weather strain. As far as a starter strain, I'd say start with one of the Thai varieties. Warm conditions to start with, and less prior selection than say, B+ or Golden Teacher.

Mini A/C ?? lol.. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=pc+air+conditioner&cid=7626745703838415521&sa=title#p
Have thought about buying one, to see how it works (cheap)
According to the reviews.. PC users hate it.. but I wonder how it could be adapted to a tub
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16835150067
not recommending to try this.. but I may get one and do some tinkering.

take it from a guy who mods cases part time, those things are junk. they wouldnt drop the temp in a fruiting chamber a single degree.
but man oh man if they ever perfect a real "mini pc air conditioner" watch out processor because you're getting OC'd like a motherfucker!

In a pinch, you can always lay a wet towel over the fruiting chamber and then set a fan to blow on it. This will give nearly a 10F temp drop. However, if I was wanting to grow in a 40C climate, I'd look for a shady spot outdoors to spawn to. RR

Cover it with a tarp? Whereabouts are you? Not GPS coordinates, but a general idea?

That's tough. You'll need an artificial environment no matter what you do. So your indoor temps are that high? What's average indoors?

You plant in the shade such as up against a wall, water the soil well every day or two, and mulch with straw. RR

Yeh its probably not that bad indoors maybe 8 degrees coller inside during the day it would be cooler but because im workin during the day the house is shut up and i cant have the a/c onim guessing not sure around 30-38 inside depending on the day i will be back at home soon and can make and educated decision then about the heat
