Hi Everyone!  Total newb here, first post even.  I found these pics online and was wondering if anyone could comment on the contams?

This first one looks like a tiny cluster of pale greenish dots on top of what appears to be healthy myc...There wasnt a better picture.  This persons camera must blow goats.

Fwiw, the description says this is wbs spawned to straw/worm castings, 4 days after spawning.  Apparently the substrate was layered with wbs and a worm casting/colonized wbs mix was used as the top layer.

ALOT of reading was done prior to this project, sterile procedure was used, hot water pasturization was timed and a thermometer was used ect.

Might be bruising, but its hard to tell, to small. Well if it grows within a few days its a contam.

the third picture looks like really dry substrate problems or perhaps cobweb?

The green might be a penicillin/trich species starting.

is this your own grow ?

The third pic the substrate is nice and moist.  What you see is cobweb mold, as far as I can identify it.  I spent over 6 hours reaserching last night trying to make identifications.

In the first pictures, I believe it is green/grey penicillin.  What I had a hard time finding out is what the proper course of action would be for that.  The grow log says that a large area was cut out around the suspicious piece.  Powdery myc was found making the confirmation.  Salt was poured into the space that was left.

Any hypothetical advice? WWYD?

Yeah, toss the lot of them, and start over.

Try again, sometimes it is worthwhile trying to remove contams if there is a specific reason but those grows look heavily contaminated and should be tossed out.

The third picture is definitely cobweb mold.  The green in the first pic looks more like bruising, but hard to tell.  Next time, chose a more appropriate media than popcorn or whatever that is.  If you want any chance, I'd take that outdoors and bury it in a shady spot, provided it's still warm enough.  Otherwise, spray the whole thing with 3% peroxide to 'melt' the cobweb and then hope for the best.

Ack, no popcorn here!  Thats wbs, and both trays were tossed.  Im pretty sure it was pen, the myc was powdery.  One tray was about 12 hours behind the other, and both had huge patches of green/grey spores the next day.

Thanks for everyones imput.

It looks like there's corn on the top layer. Never leave grains exposed on top of your bulk substrate.
