Case Myc. Spec?(photos)
    #1141518 - 12/14/02 04:26 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

i was out in these woods... and i was looking for shrooms but i didnt find any shrooms but i did find some track marks of some kind like someone had beend digging near this tree. I believe it was a pecan tree, and i looked around in the leaves and noticed mycelium growing, + i saw something like someone had picked shrooms there but no sign of any shrooms at all besides the mycelium i found. so i took a sample and brought it home washed it in a little peroxide and water solution, put scotts 3 in 1 in the microwave, put a small layer of vermiculite i sterilized as well in the microwave and added some water to put as a bottom layer. then i put some scotts 3 in 1 after i rehydrated it, just a bit of 3 in 1, and put the sample down then covered it all over in the rest of my 3 in 1. i just wanted to know if the mycelium could culture the scotts and maybe grow some shrooms speculating that its a possible strain that could fruit in those conditions? i dont have a clue as to the strain cause i saw no shrooms, i can only speculate. but could a sample colonize the scotts? i just wonder if the mycelium can culture the scotts without getting contaminated or have the strength or ability to colonize it.

heres a pic

yesm  . i wonder what kind it is... i hope it isnt poisonous. and its far fetched if its active but you never know  . i found it under a pecan tree. i need to see what mushies like pecan trees... its been unusually warm here, there was some horse shit in the middle of these woods... i didnt see any horse or know how a horse could have gotten there, so i took some of mycelium from the sample and threw it in the pile took a stick and mixed it around and stuck some leaves on it... who knows maybe nothing will have happenened when i go back. but im interested to see what will come of this.
