Hey guys,
first real flush from one of my 3 cakes here, got a bunch of pins flyin out.

any comments of any sort are appreciated :smile:

By the looks of it, it looks like you didn't put any verm on the side of the cake. So I'm guessing that verm does help for bigger yields. Not that I'm questioning it. Just never saw a pic of the process.

the first cake i got to pick hadn't been flushed (because of oversized pins that made me nervous to dunk) so i let it fruit, and i really just got 2 decent but on the small sized ones. which is why this cake surprised the hell out of me when it pinned (this one is dunked of course)

texas_raised, you're 100% right, i myself didn't put verm on any of it (i had/have none as of yet, really need to pick it up so i have some for after the next dunks)

the verm on top is the uncolonized layer left at the top, which i've made face up on all of my cakes and it seems to be where they want to pin out of (on this one anyhow)

although i will point out that the ONE pin that is bigger than all the others came out of the side, not verm
haha

I know what you mean. All my BRF jars are pinning at the top where the substrate and dry verm meet(but have seen some that pin elsewhere). I think I might even do one cake upside down. Or is it down side? hmmmmmmm.....? haha.

the spores were obtained from spores101.com, a strain called Hawaiian which, after i looked into it (after ordering) i found out that there is no native mushroom strain from hawaii and therefore it's a cube of SOME sort. haha. unless i'm wrong and someone would like to tell me so.

Strain Origin: Unknown, Psilocybe cubensis is not documented to be present in Hawaii. PES stock (Pacific Exotica Spora)
