    #11410712 - 11/08/09 01:31 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

It was an amazing debate. Absolutely must watch. Here's the playlist. The results are in a spoiler below. Do a mouse-over on the black box.

Watch or watch not?

Pro:
Stephen Fry and seeing the Catholic Church get attacked.

Contra:
Having to listen to that insufferable prick Christopher Hitchens.

Tough call.

EDIT: I watched it and it is indeed brilliant. Thanks for posting.

the Catholic church hierarchy is an embarrassment to Christianity

doctrinally they have many things wrong but they do have some key things right as well

the churches in my area open up their doors to the homeless and hungry in the winter(different church every night)

everyone gets fed well and has a place to sleep for the night

theres both protestant and catholic churches involved and I see no difference between the 2 within this program

the church is an overwhelming good around here

I like catholics. I still remember the time I was giving my good friend a ride to the abortion clinic and couldn't find the place.
Just when I was about to give up, all of these people with "abortion is murder" signs led me directly to the place! Thanks guys, I was in quite a hurry that day.

The church has killed more people then you can imagine...

I watched a documentary on all the different torture devices they used for "witches" and anyone who was against them.

March 12, 2000: The pope apologizes for the persecution of the Jewish people.

The papacy said prayers for Hitler on his birthday every year until the end.

do not even attempt to equate what Jesus did with what the Catholic church is today

they don't even teach the bible as an authoritative source...they believe ALL literature including modern is just as authoritative as the bible

to them its just another writing

so please, don't insult genuine Christians(which the Catholic hierarchy has persecuted as well)

John Paul II was pushing the UN's agenda of a one world religion and he called for a New World Order

that is not Christianity

its infiltrated Paganism and has been probably since Constantine(when the church and Rome merged)

Stephen Fry is awesome. Christopher Hitchens is a douche (even if i agree with him).
