Second day of my mushroom expedition. More mushrooms than last time!
Here are some random mushrooms which I found, but, really had no intrest in ID'ing.
These are known as "Angel wings"
I'm VERY curious about this amazing specimen
Wish this was an Azure
Here's a blue-tailed skink!
A cute little tree frog!
A scary wood scorpion!

Thanks guys.
I was really stoked on finding those critters as well. I literally hiked from 7am to 6pm today. My friend and I turned over old wood, and came across mushrooms and creatures. Long day outside, its nice to be sitting down on a chair
Im really wondering what that white weird looking fungi is...never seen anything like it. They mycelium underneath it was just amazing...it was like an internal stalk in the dead wood (oak).

Tromping through the forest is always greattimes. Make sure when you move things around you put them back as those critters call them home. Great Pictures btw.

Your interesting white mushroom resembles Hericium abietis. One of the prettiest mushrooms you will ever find, and excellent eating too.
Great photos!

Nr.2 is Gomphidius helveticus I think, definitely a Gomphidius though. Also called Chroogomphus helveticus .
All Gomphidius are great edibles.

great pics, and great finds. i'm verry glad you have shared your experience. i've not had much luck lately in the mushroom department (lack of percipitation and whatnot) so it's nice to see someone else has been. i must say, also, your image quality is good.

Aww damn, you're making me wish it was spring/summer time again. I want to go find mushrooms and lizards and snake and whatnot... =\ Its like 40 degrees outside and raining right now. How big was that wood scorpion? He looks cool. We get scorpions out here but they are only about 1 inch long. We also get those 5 lined(blue-tail) skinks out here... I thought they were just a southeast thing, guess not. Nice finds though man

Hehe !
Well, to tell you the truth, its not much different weather conditions here.... Its been about 40 at night, 55-60 during the day. I was hiking hte last few days for about 10 hours each, during some heavy rain.
The skink was amazing to find. We opened an old fallen oak log and there s/he was. We picked up another oak log and there was the scorpion. He was only about an inch long too. He wasn't even striking.
There has been so much fungi around here, I dont know what to do with myself. Its amazing because I didn't find anything until this week. lol.

Thanks,
It really was completely different than an azure, but, the conical cap just made me think ... man, I wish I could find some of those out here!
Coloration was way off, the mushroom species itself was very common, seeing it in a range of habitats. It had a root-like stem which grew about a good 4-8 inches under the humus.
