Yup. You could pick them a little before this, or if you wanted to make prints out of them, pick a little later.

that looks fine to me, only thing that would happen if you waited is maybe 1/2inch more growth and the caps upturning and dumping spores everywhere.

Whats the diff between picking them like they are in my picture or picking them when the cap turns up?
Its weird because only a few were ready to pick like 6 mushrooms the rest of the bin is getting there but not ready yet..is this normal?

I'm a firm believer that picking before they mature leads to more potent fruits. No real evidence aside from the effects of eating the little buggers :stoned: pick em' while closed!

Basically, when the caps open, the spores drop. Not good for keeping you growing area glean, or for allergies, but a good thing if you want to collect spores.

Q1: no real difference except the fact that one is dropping spores.

Q2: that is not odd at all for multi-spore cakes/casings. minute differences in genes will result in slightly different growth rates. just pick them as they become mature

As soon as the veil tears they are find. There is really no change in potency if you were to wait another day til the caps fully opened...
