b+ sppores question about immature and mature mushrooms:

is it wrong to piick them while they are young, the mushrooms.  i feel its right to wait till they are fully mature.  is that the best way to go?  and.  when they are maturered does it mean the veil breaks and spores scatter?

Mature to me means they are near the end of thier life cycle.  Spores dropped, curling nicely around the edges, no more growth etc...

I usually pick them at two times depending on my mood.  Just after the veil breaks (most common for me), or after they have fully grown and dropped spores.  People say they don't like the tatse of spores.  I say so what.  I don't think I would be eating them for thier taste.  They weigh more then.

I've also heard they are more potent when very small or young.  I have yet to see any imperical data on that though.

sweet metal and guitars.  nice bike.  yeah thats what my conscious says to do is wait till the veil or when it drops it's spores.  i want it to have its life first.  once it has had its life and is getting to be old then i would harvest in theory if i was to grow cubes.  though then i thought well shoot.  if one was buddhist in theory buddhist cannot kill.  and so can they kill plants?

Good question.  I think they can but they meditate for some sort of forgiveness even they though they don’t pray to a god.  Hmmm  Perplexing.

mama, if you pick them before the caps open just after the veil breaks then you won't have spores dropping on your fruiting chamber, if you're growing indoors. They don't mind really, they want to be eaten... the fact that humans eat them is one of their best survival mechanisms and higher purposes.
Or at least that is how I feel about it, and yes I have at least anecdotal  proof that the smaller ones are more potent. So it works out if you pick them earlier, unless of course you want to make spore prints.

Pick at the large pin stage before the veil tears for best fruit quality.

Hey there RR.  Just curious.  Better quality in what way(s)?  Potency/Actives?  Weight?  Taste?  Volume?  Fertility (lack of better term)?  etc...

and is there any imperical data covering these items?

Just curious.
:peace:
