is my lime safe for casing?
    #11408946 - 11/08/09 02:54 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

I grabbed a small zip-lock bag of lime from a bigger bag that was in my friend's garage.  I didn't read the label too closely, but I remember that one of about 7 uses it listed was on the bag was "agricultural."  Is this the same as horticultural?  Are there other agricultural uses for the mycellium-burning lime that this could have been referring to?  I would call him and ask, but he's not home right now.

was it hydrated lime?

if so you'll be okay, but I think you're fine anyway.

Ok, I managed to check out the bag, and it said it was high calcium for industrial and mining uses in big letters.  it also said agricultural uses somewhere smaller on the bag.  I didnt see the words horticultural, hydrated, or dolmite anywhere.  Will this burn my casing?  I also just noticed I have some ground limestone in the garden shed.  would this be better?
