Lived their with friend on campus of university of santa cruz(home of banana slugs LOL) and found some growing on a tree near campus, waited till everyone left, went back and some one nabbed them!!! man!!! but nice pics....love SC....cool pic

Oh those looks great! I can't wait to move back to California, I have been to Santa Cruz once was a nice place.

How many Laughing gyms do you have to eat persay to attain a high if one went for that sorta thing? :?

same patch as mine, pin test reveals a variety of purple, orange, and cream context.

didnt appear to be the case with these, two pins side by side from the same cluster had differently colored context

That is possible and it still would be a G. luteofolius.  What isn't possible are very young pins to be anything but reddish or vinaceous in their pileus context.  When that occurs they are a different mushroom.

No because santa cruz is not an exact location.  Any location that is more than a couple square miles is fine.
