keep up the fear mongering. maybe you can post some of those nazi death camp pics.
As zappa pointed out:
Not the same thing. If they said..... you have to buy a car and then you have to buy insurance....... your analogy might hold some water.
Millions of people (a "Shout Out" to those who are too young (or old) to drive, those with DUI's, those who live in cities with public transportation and those who just don't want or can't afford a car) don't have a car.
Pretty stupid analogy.

the senate will pass the senate' no dems are going to vote to stop debate; although they might vote against the final bill. (in other words they will vote closure--which is the only time for a fillibuster) and then maybe vote against the final bill) there are already 55 democratic yes votes for the bill as it stands, and 59 votes to end debate --only traitor joe --although i've heard that he has also privatively agreed to vote to end debate.
IMO the bill is a mess and its dead in the senate.
when did Cap and Trade pass the House?

no doubt. Then in 2012 im sure obama will just blame the evil republicans again. If only they passed my socialist bills we wouldn't be in such a mess. and let us not forget that im just cleaning up bush's mess. this is all his fault.

I've always been confused about the furore this care bill seems to have caused in the states. Here in the UK, I gotta say I'm pretty proud of the NHS. Yes, it's a bloated beaurocracy, but it's free medical treatment for all and anyone! America's private insurance system I never understood. As for hearing that 50 million people didn't have health insurance (often through lack of means rather than desire, I was like )
And, from what I hear, this goes some way to your government stepping in and ensuring healthcare is within reach of everyone. So where's the controversy come from..?

Granted, that's a little inaccurate, but it's free at the point of entry. For me, that's kind of the point. I find the possibility of being in dire need of urgent medical care and being told "I'm sorry, you're insurance doesn't cover it" a horrifying prospect. Seriously, I really feel for anyone living under a callous system like that. Fortunately, that'll never happen to me-I will always be treated.

But that's the problem... you won't always be. At least, not if the treatment required doesn't pass muster of some government bureaucrat, or if they deem you to have been a smoker for too many years or you weigh too much or are too old or - in the case of some newborns - too young.

if you're jobless it's free at the point of entry, if you have no assets it's free after your death but if you're like the majority of americans it's $400/month or more and what's really great, if they run it like all the other medical programs, once you die, they take what you've used from your assets so if you've had $500k in medical bills over the years, your heirs will lose $500k in your assets from what they inherit

they cant refuse emergency medical care to any patient under current regulations, the law has been in effect for decades
