Tricky looking Galerina
    #11406243 - 11/07/09 06:52 PM (8 years, 1 month ago)

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
: found growing on wood debris around big logs amongst  leaf litter
Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.
:-yellowish gold "see pics"  - attatched -adnexed to anate
Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.
see pics
Cap:
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
see pics
Spore print color:
Very important!
:-> at first looked purple brown on wet caps - now turning more rust orange as drying - another virgin print is being made - will check it in morning
Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.
:-> see pics - bruised dark bluish black - looks like some blues in pic
Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.
:--> these looked kinda cool no matter what they are - i noticed a pronounced sharp nipple on all in this spot alone - heres the pics

That last pic i just thought looked cool so i threw it in too:thumbup:
Are these clearly galerina? Im thinking so -

I could see how it could look bluish black, and Galerinas are out now.  Something doesn't look right though.  Post a photo of the print tomorrow.

Thankx for the reply Mr:mushroom2::thumbup::smile:  - - i know my fav spots are covered in deadly galerinas - i found some absolute giants today too - but these with the nipple - and slightly brighter bluish bruising made me keep them and post up this tread! ( also notice there is no annular zone??) - the one on the right is cracked, not showing a annular skirt!

I can say ive found very very few before that look like these did?
and id say i live around tons of these deadly gals - they are everywhere

No problem.  Yeah, deadly Gals are something else.  Especially when they don't get their way.

if the stem is not WHITE i tend to toss it regardless of any other features that it may share with a cyan. its scary every time i see these posts though cause i am so new to cyan hunting but so far im doing okay
