Todays hunt review in Massachusetts, USA. NEED ID
    #11405335 - 11/07/09 02:30 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Im REALLLLLY hoping this is a gym, because this will be my first active find . Thanks everyone.

Habitat:

Found growing off a log in the woods in Massachusetts, USA. The plastic bag represents where I found the majority of them.

Gills:

Has a purple/blueing color on every single one of them.

Stem:

Brownish and all go between 1-6 inches in length, the longer ones can be wavy.
Cap:

Convex, with a ring sort of around it on the very edge.

Spore print color:
Brownish/black. They were getting kind closed so it was hard to take it, but I did.

Bruising:
The cap has a blue/purplish color. While the stem maybe gets brown? I'm not shore.

Other information:
Smells kinda good.

I think you have a mixture of Hypholoma sublateritium and Hypholoma fasciculare.

Ya dude it fuckin sucks lol. I wanna try trippin out on mushies but I refuse to pay for them when I know I can get em in my local woods. Any tips for hunting gyms? Only thing is, is I live in Massachusetts and its been kind of cold down here, but raining a lot so idk. Think i'll have any luck?
