ID these for me please? Liberty caps?
    #11402689 - 11/07/09 07:19 AM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Heyy, realy new to this but alot of friends do it alot. Went out and picked a lot of liberty caps.

After picking tons with them, i decided to go out one morning and pick my own.
I didn't wanna be a fool and just eat them, so yea, heres the pictures,

Sorry just read the rules so here

They were found in a park with a few playing fields on it. The gills are black, the stem is about 3 inches and a light brown color, a little lighter than the cap. and the bruises seem black. Thats all i can give for now. sorry if its not enough and thanks for any replys.

make sure of each specimen, but those are the goods.

some of those look way past their prime though.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

that's what happens when they age.

feel the soggy, fall-apart texture of those specimens. in future, you might just as well leave those that feel like that, they are beginning to decompose.

fresh, prime semies should be rubbery and pliant when moist.

specimens which look and feel like those circled in red are nice, fresh and firm.

ones like those in blue are getting on in age, but still fine. you should be able to tell a difference in texture.

those like a few of the others look to be pretty far gone. some people still make tea from them, but i usually don't collect them.
